Get To Know Our History & Ethos
Historic Mill Owners home
Located in the heart of North West England, The Birch Hotel has become renowned for its great service and countryside setting.
It was originally built in 1874 as the residence for a wealthy mill owner. As the country home for the owner of a successful mill The Birch would have seen plenty of wealthy guests. It was built not to only be a home but to also show the wealth and opulence of its owner.
In 1970, The Birch Hotel opened its doors to the public! With just six bedrooms initially, the guest list was small but the hospitality was renowned. Set inside 3 acres of landscaped English countryside The Birch Hotel has become a great place to have a quiet getaway, whilst still being in easy reach of Manchester city centre.
The Birch Hotel
Boasting 30 fully furnished bedrooms in a historic building, The Birch Hotel is proud to host guests, events and weddings in stylish and traditional surrounds.
Under New Management
The Birch Hotel was taken over in the year 2000 but continues to provide warm welcomes and comfy beds for all its guests.
Refurbished and Refreshed
In 2004, we refurbished the whole hotel – from the gardens to the bedrooms – to transform the Birch Hotel into a modern hotel where anyone can relax in comfort.
